2006 Masaki, I.393: "The Routledge Wholesale Catalogue of June, 1856, lists the titles of the Third series no. 27-39 of Aunt Mavor's picture books for little readers serially following from the First and Second series; but still grouping into three groups such as First, Second and Third series. The Routledge Wholesale Catalogue of September, 1857, lists all the titles serially from 1 to 39 under the series title Aunt Mavor's toy books. [...] This series is transitional in that it bridges the old and new series: Aunt Mavor's picture books for little readers and Aunt Mavor's toy books. Whereas the back covers use the former name, the front cover for the first time uses the latter. This series was the last one to be issued with 13 titles and bound with a standard front design, besides being printed by Edmund Evans. After this, toy books were published in one or several titles almost every year, with individual front designs. In 1857 this series was listed in Aunt Mavor's toy books as no. 27-39", 394
